Houston Pride Moves to Downtown

It was announced today by the Board of Director at Pride Houston that the entire LGBT Pride celebration will be moved to downtown. The Press lease stated ” The Houston LGBT Pride Festival and Parade will have the same feel as it did along Westheimer in that both will stay connected so you can enjoy the Festival through-ought the day and then experience the nation’s first night-time Parade.” According to officials at Pride Houston, the reason for the shift to downtown is the continuing growth of the parade and that downtown can better handle the parade that has drawn over 250,000 people in the past making it the largest Gay Pride Parade in the southwest.

More information can be found on the Pride Houston’s webpage at https://www.pridehouston.org/pride-news/pride-in-downtown/ the site also includes F.A.Q.’s about the move.
